weaving connection, creating change

Wild Ground Creative Adventures is a creative response to a world in drastic change.

Since 2013, we’ve been connecting families with nature through outdoor play and creativity. Locals know our much-loved Wild Ground outdoor programs located in the Blue Mountains, NSW Australia. Our range of outdoor programs include nature play sessions, bushwalking, early childhood programs, and curriculum-aligned bush school adventure workshops for primary-aged students. We also run professional development learning for educators.

Our programs build deep community, provide opportunities for children to be whole, authentic and risk-taking learners and support parents to build confidence in concepts of play, healthy risk-taking and connection. They draw from a range of different education philosophies aiming to reconnect children and adults back to each other, themselves and nature – away from the distraction of screens.

Our bush school adventure workshops can take place in your school or at Wild Ground locations. Our staff have extensive experience working with neurodiverse children in both classroom and outdoor settings. They work to ensure our outdoor learning workshops are inclusive in both design and delivery.

More recently, our Story Nest creative offerings engage, inspire and delight children with nature packages and therapeutic stories delivered to your inbox and doorstep or immersive online community art projects.

Storytelling is one of the major creative tools we use in our teaching practice with both adults and children, and in our professional development workshops for educators. We love sharing stories in the traditional sense, particularly if there's a campfire involved! But we also use informal and improvised storytelling games and practices in less formal ways for therapeutic, educational or connection means.

In an uncertain world, we’re driven to build connection and community through creativity, child-led play and nature connection.

Acknowledgement to Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land that the Wild Ground staff live and work: the Darug, Gundungurrah and Wiradjuri people. We recognise their strong, continuing connection to the land and waters, and thank them for their custodianship of  this mountain range and its ecosystems since time immemorial.

We also acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the various other lands on which members of our Wild Ground Community live.

We pay respect to all Elders past, present and emerging. We also extend that respect to all Aboriginal people joining us in our creative activities

We acknowledge the ongoing impacts of Colonisation and commit to deepening our understandings and relationships.  Sovereignty has never been ceded and Aboriginal people remain strong in their connection to land and culture. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
